On my first visit to the Douro Valley since 1982, I was surprised to find a number of metre gauge steam locomotives still present at Regua and Tua, mouldering slowly away in the sunshine. We had travelled to Regua to ride on CP's weekly Historic Train on the broad gauge line along the valley to Tua, so the discovery of these derelict steam locomotives made up somewhat for the appearance of a diesel loco on the 'historic' train!
