43106 on the 40th Anniversary Train
The Severn Valley Railway celebrated its 40th Anniversary on the weekend of 22nd/23rd May 2010. Here, Ivatt 'Flying Pig' 2-6-0 No. 43106 crosses Victoria Bridge over the River Severn on 23rd May with the Anniversary train, the 2pm from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster, the departure time of the railway's first public service exactly 40 years previously. The canoeists appear to be unaware of the significance of the event!
