In 2016 the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway moved their steam gala to late June from its usual date in the latter half of September. With five locomotives appearing, there was always plenty of action. Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST Rosyth No. 1 and RSH Austerity 0-6-0ST no. 71515 represented the current home fleet, augmented by long term visitor Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST Caledonia Works and special guests 1366 class 0-6-0PT no 1369 from the South Devon Railway and Hawksworth 15xx class 0-6-0PT no. 1501 from the Severn Valley Railway.
