One advantage of the WSR's circuitous route and leisurely pace is that you can easily travel by road to meet trains further along the line. After leaving Dunster in my car I had almost 10 minutes to wait before no. 777 Sir Lamiel appeared at Helwell Bay with the 13:47 from Minehead.
