As is usually the case, the first outing of the year was to the Great Central Railway's Winter Steam Gala - and thanks to being retired now I travelled up to Loughborough on the morning of the opening day. Just as well, as Friday had much better weather than the Saturday, which was dull, damp and windy for the most part.
