The major steam event in the GWSR calendar takes place over the second bank holiday weekend in May. After the last minute withdrawal of one of this year's guest locomotives, the timetable was recast at short notice to make optimum use of the remaining pair of visitors and the five home-based locomotives, without sacrificing the freight workings.
