The East Lancs Railway put on an ambitious steam and diesel event at the end of July to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the end of BR steam. Despite the non-appearance of Black 5's nos. 44871 and 45407 (at least while I was there), I thought that the event was a great success - to the extent that I even photographed the diesels!
