During a week long visit to Whitby I was able to see steam in action on the North York Moors Railway on several occasions. The best of these was the day I had a footplate pass for a return trip from Pickering to Grosmont on No. 63395, a North Eastern Railway built 0-8-0, a locomotive that I had never even seen in steam before.
